Acupressure to help you sleep.
In 2008 two studies were performed investigating acupressure and its use to help you sleep.
The first group of patients had sleeping disorders. Sixty percent of those were suffering cancer. They had the HT7 point stimulated every night for a fortnight. Sixty percent reported improvement in the quality of their sleep, nearly eighty percent of the cancer patients reported improvement.
The second study investigated if melatonin production was effected when the H7 piont was. Melatonin is a hormone which is used by your brain to control your sleep cycles. Some people supplement melatonin to get to sleep at night.
A group of people, with insomnia received pressure on their HT7 point for twenty days. The study found that the level of melatonin was higher in patients that received the treatment. It also found that they also said there was a reduction in anxiety and the sleep quality was improved. Read more about acupressure.
