Acupressure

Acupressure for the Treatment of Pain

Using the same points on the body as acupuncture, acupressure is an old healing art that uses pressure, not needles, on those key points which simulates blood flow and helps the body to heal itself.
This treatment is used widely throughout Asia but yet to be totally accepted by western medicine.
Acupressure has been effective in treating back pain, neck pain, headaches, arthritis and many common joint and muscular injuries. Acupressure can also be used to relieve stress which can have a detrimental effect on your health and wellbeing. With the increase in blood circulation the body will start removing its toxic wastes.
The key points targeted by acupressure are found along the meridians. The meridians are a system of energy channels which are invisible.  Constrictions at these points cause blockages which can cause pain or illness. Using acupressure at these points removes any blockages and promotes blood flow thus the body will start to heal.
The treatment is done with the patient being fully clothed.
